This was necessary so as to ascertain the healthiness of the existing distribution network for EGs integration.

The power quality issues considered in the study were bus voltage profiles and the total line losses.

Simulation results showed that EGs connection improved the voltage profile, for example, bus voltage at PTC 11 kV, improved from 0.881 pu to 0.958 pu while the total active power loss was reduced by 78.16.

The results obtained suggest that the grid is healthy enough to accommodate the EGs with no quality issues.

Initially, an energy transition model for coal-fired thermal power plants (TPPs) is proposed to develop and validate an environment-friendly pathway for Indias power sector.

The proposed model integrates retirement and commissioning of TPP capacity and the addition of Renewable Energy (RE) with a multi-regional interconnected power system to meet the projected evening peak demand for 2021-22 in India.

The obtained installed power generation capacity results are compared with the base scenario of NEP which recommended power generation and transmission capacity additions for the period 2021-22.

The results show that the proposed method has obvious economic benefits mainly due to an effective shift of total installed TPP capacity, reduction in non-served load, efficient utilization of TPP capacity, increased ability to transmit coal power with lower tariffs using the interregional transmission grid capacity in addition to the co-benefits of cleaner power generation.
